The indications are those of parenteral nutrition when oral or enteral feeding is impossible, insufficient or contraindicated.
Nitrogen caloric intake (amino acids of the L series).
Dosage AMINOSTAB IV Injection Box of 1 vial of 500 ml
Specialty reserved for adults.
The dosage is a function of metabolic needs, in particular the level of nitrogen catabolism (estimated or measured), as well as the clinical condition of the patient.
In adults, average nitrogen requirements are 0.16 g / kg / day (1 g amino acids / kg / day) to 0.35 g / kg / day (2 g amino acids / kg / day). day).
The energy requirements are on average 30 to 40 kcal / kg / day and depending on the nutritional and metabolic status of the patient.
As a guide, a dosage of between 0.10 to 0.25 g of nitrogen / kg / day corresponds to 5 to 14 ml / kg / day of this solution.
In obese patients, the dose will be calculated based on the ideal weight estimate.
Administration mode :
In perfusion by CENTRAL VENOUS SYSTEM EXCLUSIVELY.
This solution should be infused slowly and regularly through a central catheter, preferably using an adjustable flow pump. The infusion rate should not exceed 1000 mI in 8 hours, approximately 2 mI per minute.
This solution can also be administered continuously over 24 hours.
Use in nutrient mixture:
This solution contains no carbohydrates, lipids, electrolytes, trace elements, vitamins, it is necessary to supplement it (within the framework of an exclusive parenteral nutrition), provided to have first checked the compatibility and the stability of the mixture obtained (especially in case of concomitant addition of divalent cations and lipids.
The resulting mixture will be administered:
- or within 24 hours at room temperature, which corresponds to the maximum duration of infusion.
- or after a storage of not more than three days (at a temperature between + 2 ° C and + 8 ° C), the infusion (at room temperature) must follow within 24 hours.
This product should not be administered in the following situations:
- known hypersensitivity to certain amino acids,
- congenital anomaly of amino acid metabolism,
- decompensated heart failure and water-soluble inflation.
- in the newborn and the infant.
DO NOT PERIPHERAL VENOUS ADMINISTRATION.
NOT RECOMMENDED :
Due to the lack of data, the use of this product is not recommended for women during breastfeeding.
Adverse effects Aminostab
Potential adverse effects (chills, nausea, vomiting, renal leakage of amino acids) may occur in case of overdose or too rapid administration rate.
The appearance of any abnormal sign should interrupt the infusion, which can be resumed at a slower rate.
