Indication

They are based on the antibacterial activity and the pharmacokinetic characteristics of this drug. They take into account both the clinical studies to which it has given rise and its place in the array of currently available antibacterial products.

They are limited to infections caused by the germs recognized as sensitive, especially in certain situations where the bacterial species responsible for the infection can be multiple and / or resistant to the antibiotics currently available.

This dosage is indicated in infants under 30 months of age in:

· Acute otitis media,

· Low respiratory infections,

· Urinary tract infections.

Official recommendations regarding the appropriate use of antibacterials should be taken into account.

Against indications

This medicine MUST NEVER BE USED in case of:

· Allergy to antibiotics of the beta-lactam family (penicillins, cephalosporins): take into account the risk of allergy with cephalosporin antibiotics,

· Allergy to any of the components of the medication,

· Past history of haematological involvement with amoxicillin / clavulanic acid,

Due to the presence of aspartame, this medication is contraindicated in case of phenylketuria.

This medicinal product is usually not recommended when used in combination with methotrexate (see section Interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction ).

Infections and infestations

Frà © Quent:

 Cutaneous-mucous candidiasis.

Hematologic and lymphatic system disorders

Ezinophilia cases have been reported.

Rare:

Leukopenia (neutropenia), agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia and reversible hemolytic anemia.

Immune system disorders

Allergic manifestations including urticaria, angioedema, respiratory genesis, very rare anaphylaxis (including anaphylactic shock), serous sickness, hypersensitivity vasculitis.

Nervous system disorders

Not very frequent:

 Vertigo, cephalated.

Very rare:

 Convulsions.

Gastrointestinal disorders

Frà © Quent:

 Diarrhea, loose stools, nausea, vomiting.

Not very frequent:

 Dyspepsia and abdominal pain.

Very rare:

 Pseudo-membranous colitis and hemorrhagic colitis.
Superficial dental stains, usually reversible after brushing, have been reported very rarely in children with oral suspension forms.

Hereditary conditions

Not very frequent:

 Moderate and asymptomatic increase in ASAT, ALT, or alkaline phosphatase.

Very rare:

Icterus and / or cholestatic or mixed hepatitis.
These cases seem to occur more often in elderly and male patients and during prolonged treatment (more than 10 days and especially for treatments longer than 15 days).
These effects occur during treatment, but in some cases may occur only several weeks after the end of treatment.
Histopathological examination of the liver usually reveals centrilobular cholestasis.
The evolution is generally favorable but can be prolonged by a few weeks. Very rare cases of fatal evolution have been observed.

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders

Not very frequent:

Rash, pruritus and urticaria.

Rare:

 Erytheme polymorphic.

Very rare:

 Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell's syndrome, bullous or exfoliative dermatitis, and acute generalized exanthematic pustulosis (see Warnings and Precautions / Warnings section). These skin manifestations may be more frequent and / or more intense in patients with infectious mononucleosis or evolving lymphocytic leukemia.

Renal and urinary disorders

Cases of acute interstitial nephritis, crystalluria have been reported.
