He first be sure that it is a hemorrhoidal crisis and the only way to find out is to go see a doctor. To cure a painful hemorrhoidal crisis, several medications are available.

Local treatment

Local treatment includes creams, ointments or suppositories based on lubricating excipient, more or less associated with cortisone.
It is necessary to follow the medical prescription, not to use these treatments of prolonged way.

It is possible to take a veino-tonic by mouth during the duration of the crisis: it is useless to associate several veino-tonics at the same time.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ie non-corticosteroids) as well as paracetamol are active on pain.

Namely: in case of hemorrhoids, avoid aspirin that would promote bleeding.

In pregnant women, constipation must be fought. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are contraindicated.

Treatments to regulate intestinal transit

Beside these specific treatments, it is necessary to regulate intestinal transit and fight against constipation:

Indeed, constipation gives by definition hard stools, difficult to evacuate, which hurt the hemorrhoids leaving; constipation causes increased pressure in the rectal bulb, it promotes dilation of hemorrhoids and blood stagnation, thrombosis and dilation and descent of internal hemorrhoids.

Diarrhea can also cause dilation of hemorrhoids because of thrusting efforts that also increase abdominal pressure.

To regulate intestinal transit, you have to have regular physical activity, eat properly, prefer vegetables, fruits, cereals and wholemeal bread ... and do not forget to drink enough.

To reduce constipation, it is useful to take mild laxatives by mouth, mucilage and avoid local laxatives (micro-enemas and enemas) that can be traumatic.

It is also necessary to have a regular and correct hygiene of this zone without abusing the soap which can be very irritating, especially if there is an anal fissure or an ulceration.
