The constipation

A change of habits, a trip, a slight state of stress, can sometimes be accompanied by episodes of constipation ... but other times the reasons are more important.

Constipation is defined as a decrease in the number of stools to less than 3 per week.

Usually the person complains of dehydrated stools, defecation efforts, incomplete evacuation.

Constipation often comes with symptoms like:

  • bloating,
  • abdominal pain and even
  • diarrhea, or more accurately "false diarrhea".

It is quite often due to a slowing of the transit of the bolus in the digestive tract and in particular in the colon and rectum.

Constipation can be occasional or chronic :

  • Occasional constipation is caused by a change in daily habits (changes in diet, stress, travel). Generally, occasional constipation is not dangerous and disappears along with the cause that caused it, but it can be embarrassing and cause bloating and stomach upset.
  • Constipation can be defined chronic when it becomes frequent. It is often linked to a low-fiber diet or lack of hydration, but can also be a symptom of a bowel disease or abnormality.

In case of frequent episodes of constipation, it is advisable to consult a doctor, to identify the cause, and intervene with the most appropriate treatment.

Here is the essential to know the causes and the best remedies in case of constipation ...
