Injection solution for IV infusion
Basic support for parenteral nutrition of the child in stable condition without nutritional imbalance when oral or enteral feeding is impossible, insufficient or contraindicated and for short periods (up to 2 weeks).
Caloric intake of carbohydrate, nitrogen (amino acids of the L series). Contribution in electrolytes and trace elements.
Dosage PEDIAVEN AP-HP CHILD G25 Solution for infusion Box of 4 bicompartiment pockets of 1000 ml
The dosage is individual and varies according to age, weight, metabolic and energy needs, as well as the patient's clinical condition.
As an indication, in children, an average of 10 to 15 grams / kg / day of glucose is required at an hourly flow rate of 1 to 1.2 g / kg / hour and 200 to 300 mg / kg / day of nitrogen. .
PEDIAVEN® AP-HP CHILD G25 should be administered at a maximum hourly rate of 4 mL / kg / hr.
This nutrient solution can be supplemented, on the express condition of having first verified the validity of the combination and the stability of the final mixture.
In the event of supplementation, the additions must be carried out under strict aseptic conditions, with specialties whose compatibility has been tested.
It is preferable that the addition of a lipid emulsion is not carried out directly in the bag or tubing because of the risk of destabilization of the lipid emulsion by the divalent cations contained in the solution.
Addition of vitamins:
In case of exclusive parenteral nutrition, vitamin supplementation is recommended.
Stability was shown for a mixture comprising 1000 mL of PEDIAVEN® AP-HP CHILD G25 and 7.5 mL of the vitamin solution having the following composition per 5 mL of solution (note: the resulting mixture is yellow):
For 5 mL
Nicotinamide (PP, B3)
Ac. Pantothenic (B5)
Folic acid (B9)
Ac. ascorbic (C)
Vitamin A (retinol)
3, 500 IU
Vitamin E (tocopherol)
After adding vitamins, protect the pocket of light.
In central intravenous infusion exclusively.
Given its high osmolarity (1790 mOsm / L), PEDIAVEN® AP-HP CHILD G25 solution should not be infused into a peripheral vein because of the risk of thrombophlebitis at the infusion site.
- Renal glomerular insufficiency,
- need for restriction of sodium intake,
- Congenital abnormality of amino acid metabolism,
- Known hypersensitivity to a component of the solution.
Adverse effects Pediaven AP-HP Child G25
Potential adverse effects may occur:
- hyperglycemia if the hourly flow rate of perfused glucose exceeds the patient's glucose utilization capacities (variables according to age and pathological situation);
- transient disruption of liver function parameters;
- hypersensitivity reactions to certain amino acids;
thrombophlebitis can occur when the perfusion is performed intravenously peripheral.
In case of excessive intake of amino acids, metabolic acidosis and hyperazotemia may occur especially in cases of renal or respiratory failure.
The appearance of any uncontrolled abnormal signs (including chills, sweating, fever, difficulty breathing) should stop the infusion. Sepsis related to the catheter should be sought.
