They arise from the antibacterial activity and pharmacokinetic characteristics of bacampicillin. They take into account both the clinical studies that gave rise to this drug and its place in the range of antibacterial products currently available.
They are limited to infections due to germs defined as sensitive:
- in initial treatment of:
. acute pneumopathies,
. superinfections of acute bronchitis and exacerbation of chronic bronchitis,
. ENT infections (otitis, sinusitis, documented angina at beta-hemolytic streptococcus A) and stomatology,
. urinary tract infections,
. male genital infections and gynecological infections,
. digestive and biliary infections,
- Relay therapy in meningeal, septicemic and endocardial infections.
Official recommendations concerning the appropriate use of antibacterials should be taken into account.
Dosage PENGLOBE 400 mg Film-coated tablet Box of 1 Bottle of 12
This presentation in tablet is reserved for adults and children from 6 years (see section warnings and precautions for use).
- In the subject with normal renal function:
. Adult :
The usual dosage is 800 to 1200 mg / day in two doses.
In the treatment of relapsing septicemia, endocarditis and meningitis, the required dosage is of the order of 2400 mg / day (equivalent to 6 g of oral ampicillin).
. Child :
The usual dosage is 25 to 50 mg / kg / day.
In the treatment of relapsing septicemia, endocarditis and meningitis, this dosage may be increased up to 150 mg / kg / day.
- In patients with renal insufficiency:
. for glomerular filtration less than 30 ml / min: 400 mg per 24 hours.
. for glomerular filtration less than 10 ml / min: 400 mg per 36 hours.
. in the hemodialysis patient, bacampicillin should be taken at the end of the extrarenal treatment session.
Duration of the treatment :
The treatment duration of angina is 10 days.
Administration mode :
This medicine can be taken during or between meals. The tablets are swallowed whole without chewing, crushing or chewing with a glass of water.
This medicine should NOT be used in case of allergy to antibiotics of the beta-lactam family (penicillins and cephalosporins) or to any of the excipients.
The tablet is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age, because it can lead to a false route.
Due to the presence of lactose, this drug is contraindicated in cases of congenital galactosemia, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or lactase deficiency.
NOT RECOMMENDED :
This medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED in combination with methotrexate (see section on interactions).
Penglobe side effects
- Allergic manifestations, including urticaria, eosinophilia, angioedema, difficulty breathing, exceptionally anaphylactic shock.
- Maculopapular rashes of allergic origin or not.
Exceptionally, some cases of Lyell's syndrome and Stevens-Johnson, erythema multiforme, and erythroderma have been reported.
These skin manifestations may be more frequent and / or more intense in patients with infectious mononucleosis or evolving lymphoid leukemia.
Very rare cases of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (see section on warnings and precautions for use).
- Gastrointestinal manifestations: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, candidiasis.
- Other events have been reported more rarely:
. moderate and transient elevation of transaminases,
. acute interstitial nephritis,
. anemia, leukopenia, reversible thrombocytopenia.
