Varice: prevention

To prevent the appearance of varicose veins, only one watchword: ease your veins!

Delay as much as possible the installation of a venous insufficiency then varicose veins. Have a healthy life, do not hesitate to use the means of contention at your disposal in pharmacies.

1 - Avoid "hot" situations

Hot baths, hot wax (waxing), too hot climate, saunas, steam rooms ...

2 - Raise your legs

As much as possible, use the raised legs station: when you watch television, put your feet on a small stool, in your bed, put a cushion between mattress and box spring at the foot of the bed or raise the feet of the bed ...

3 - Eat well

It's easy to say, but what does it mean exactly? In fact, it's mostly about following a few basic rules:

  • decrease overweight,
  • avoid possible constipation,
  • increase the absorption of vitamin E and vitamin C (antioxidants)
  • have a healthy diet high in fiber, prefer vegetables and fruits, cereals ...

In short, ensure a balanced diet to promote good transit while ensuring that your body gets all the nutrients it needs.

4 - Avoid wearing too tight clothes

Socks, pants ... Let your body breathe!

5 - Walk

Exercise to use the muscle pump, walking is ideal; the soles of the feet are like sponges full of blood that are pressed with each step when the foot is placed on the ground and the movement pushes the blood up, then the leg muscles take over, by contracting they push back the blood downstream.
